Parkinsons Vibration Therapy

Let me start by explaining how vibrationtherapy can help those suffering from Parkinsons.

The vibration plate works by creating a pulsating vibration which in turn causes the muscles to contract approximately 30-50 times a second, this stimulation to the muscles of the user is done without the user actually having to do anything other than stand or lie down on the plate. Vibration Therapy can provide the Parkinsons sufferer with some day to day small gains such as better stability and balance.

Parkinsons Vibration Therapy – Benefits

PK website photoThere are a number of benefits of Parkinsons Vibration Therapy for both the elderly and sufferers of Parkinsons. One of the main benefits is the improvement in Bone Density, for as long as the many benefits of vibration plates have been known it has been just as well known that one of the benefits it helps with is Osteoporosis, while this is good for everyone it is particularly useful for the elderly as they often suffer from bone loss and brittle weak bones.  Increased muscle strength is a further benefit as having more strength means more mobility and a better ability to do more things that you may not have been able to do for a while.  An increase and improvement in Balance, Parkinsons sufferers are prone to falls, by improving their balance, falls happen less often.  Another benefit is joint function, conditions such as arthritis affect both Parkinson’s sufferers and the elderly, Parkinsons vibration therapy can help improve joint function, which in turn can mean there is less pain and thereby allows the person the ability to do more day to day things.

Parkinsons Vibration Therapy -Why?

PK website photo1Parkinsons Vibration therapy is low impact and therefore not as intimidating for Parkinsons sufferers to consider,  just by standing on the vibration plate with the knees bent engages the core, works and stimulates the reflex muscles in the legs.  I work with you to show you and help ease you into the different positions that will stimulate your muscles, to help ease off tightness and to provide more muscle awareness.  It couldn’t be easier to use and the more that you use vibration therapy the more of an increase in your flexibility, muscle strength, muscle tone, improved balance and reduced pain.
