I have had Parkinson's for the past ten years or so, and in common with most fellow-sufferers I experience a good deal of stiffness and joint pains, which limit my range of movement and make routine tasks at times quite difficult.
Over the years, I have been persuaded to try a number of therapies, and remain frankly skeptical of most of them, supported as they are by little more than anecdotal evidence. Structured exercise. however, is widely recognised as essential in helping to maintain and even improve mobility, and in this respect I find my regular Power Plate sessions particularly valuable.
I have described it to friends as initially like being strapped to a pneumatic drill, but one soon gets used to it, and Caroline's professional expertise enables her to target specific muscle groups, through careful positioning on the plate, which has the effect of helping to relieve stiffness in the neck, shoulders, lower back, etc., improving posture, and "training muscle memory". Not only do I feel better, but friends and family have noticed a marked improvement.
Equally beneficial, I'm quite sure, is the boost to one's morale afforded by Caroline's positive outlook and constant encouragement.
