Stumbling Forward

So you want to lose weight (as we all do!) and you also want it to happen yesterday, again as we all do.  When you start this journey you have high motivation and expectations, you are definitely ready to lose weight and feel amazing.

Stumbling Forward – Starting

At the start of your journey you face your weight lose and exercise routine head on but also with a sense of stumbling forward as this is a whole new journey for you.  The first few days you are on an emotional high and this gets you through this initial period, however as life always does something comes up and hits you smack between the eyes, your shifts change, you have a couple of social engagements etc etc.this is where you are pushed and it is the first true test of your mettle.

Stumbling Forward – Defining Yourself

Its at this time when life has thrown you this curve ball that you define yourself and it will also be the make or break of your weight loss and exercise journey. You will probably still have an element of stumbling forward through the weight loss and exercise cycle that you are now on, however you will also have started to work your daily/weekly routine into something of a regularity.

Getting off to a strong start is easy, finishing strong is the tough bit, but it will  be the making of you and its how you really make it to your goal or goals. You have to keep stumbling forward and stay the course long enough to make it part of your daily and weekly lifestyle, once you do this it becomes habit.

Stumbling Forward – Realistic View

As you continue on this new lifestyle change you have to take a realistic view and realise that the whole journey is a marathon and not a sprint.  As you move forward the weight loss will not happen in a perfectly straight line in other words you will not lose 2 pounds every week for a 10 or 12 week period, you will have your plateau period as well as your weight loss period.

You will have good days and lousy days, you will also have good weeks and lousy weeks but as long as you stay with your game plan you will reach your ultimate goal or goals.
